The Stone Pit is a unique rock, art, and artisan shop featuring minerals, crystals, fossils, family-created artwork, handmade goods, and other unusual finds. Customers come to browse, discover, learn, and find something they weren’t expecting.

We’re looking for a dependable, friendly, and motivated Sales & Store Associate who enjoys helping customers, stays engaged throughout the day, and takes pride in keeping the store organized, inviting, and ready to shop.

What You’ll Do

• Greet and engage every customer who comes through the door.
• Help customers find products, answer questions as your knowledge grows, and make helpful recommendations.
• Ring up purchases and provide friendly, attentive customer service.
• Straighten and organize tables, shelves, and displays; identify unpriced merchandise for the owner.
• Restock merchandise and keep displays neat and inviting.
• Dust, sweep, clean surfaces, and help maintain the overall appearance of the store.
• Use slower periods productively by noticing what needs attention and taking initiative.
• Assist with other everyday store tasks as needed.

Who We’re Looking For

• Friendly and comfortable starting conversations with customers.
• Dependable, punctual, and trustworthy.
• Self-motivated, observant, and willing to take initiative.
• Organized and comfortable staying active throughout a shift.
• Willing to clean and organize as a normal part of the job.
• Responsible with cash, merchandise and store property.
• You don’t need to already know about rocks, minerals, or fossils – we’ll teach you. You do need to be interested and willing to learn.
• Able to remain focused on customers and store responsibilities during working time; personal phone use is limited to breaks and genuine emergencies.

Retail or sales experience is helpful, but reliability, initiative, and strong customer interaction are especially important.

Pay & Opportunity

Starting pay: $12.00/hour   Hours: Approximately 21–24/week
Annual performance bonus: Up to $300 based on performance

There is room to grow. Strong performance may lead to increased hours, higher pay, and greater responsibility as the position and business grow.
